Q) What are aquaBelly® workouts based on?

Q) Do I need to modify my fitness routine from trimester to trimester?
A) First and foremost you should always listen to your body no matter what stage of you're in during your pregnancy. Some days will be better than others and you may need to exercise slower on days you are fatigued. aquaBelly® classes are specifically designed to accommodate and challenge moms during every stage of their pregnancy and afterwards. aquaBelly® instructors are experts at recognizing and assisting all levels of fitness.
Q) How soon can I start exercising after I deliver?
A) When you can begin to exercise is up to your OB/GYN's suggestion. On average a few weeks after delivery is sufficient time to wait before resuming an exercise program. However, your delivery experience will dictate the answer that is appropriate.
Q) How does exercise help my baby?
A) Exercising through your pregnancy can actually help your baby prepare themselves better for delivery for than mommies that do not exercise. Exercise throughout pregnancy can help achieve higher APGAR scores at birth; have a healthier birth weight, and can have a less stressful delivery.
Q) How does exercise help me during pregnancy and after?
A) Exercise can reduce pregnancy discomforts like backaches, fatigue, leg cramps, constipation and swelling. Exercise throughout your pregnancy may also allow for lower weight gain, an earlier at term delivery, and a faster delivery, among many other benefits. Because aquaBelly® classes take place in the water there is little to no impact on your joints allowing you to exercise at a moderate to intense level without much work. Exercise can lead to a quicker at term delivery during your 3rd trimester. It reduces recovery time after labor and delivery as well as improve fitness after giving birth. However, it is very important to note, to receive the full benefits of exercise, continuing to exercise during and after is necessary.
