As we all know, Labor Day is on September 5. It became a national holiday in 1882 to recognize American workers and their families. It also marks an end to summer and the beginning of a new school year for children. For most of us, this means a day off of work to relax and do whatever we choose. Most people spend this day with friends and family having an outside BBQ, if the weather is nice, or doing whatever comes to their mind.
There are many BBQ recipes for all kinds of food. The traditional Labor Day meal consists of burgers, chicken, hot dogs, etc… However, there are many ways to take these ordinary dishes and make them fun and delicious. There are also many healthy alternatives if you don’t want all that greasy food. Try grilling vegetables like corn, zucchini, squash, and add a delicious fruit salad to the mix. For specific recipes, there are many ideas online at places like www.allrecipes.com. There, you’ll find wonderful burger, chicken, and sandwich recipes as well as other ideas too.
Have fun this Labor Day and enjoy the day off of work and school. Get together with your friends and family and cook up something that’s exciting and healthy at the same time.
